- Many have been wondering why Falz is trending on social media
- It's simply because the lawyer turned musician dropped some tough comments on musicians who praised Yahoo boys
- Understandably, many are angry at him
Nigerians were surprised when popular musician Falz recently shared his thoughts on musicians who praise internet fraudsters in their songs.
Speaking in a recent interview, he admonished them stating that their act “is destroying our future.” Read his statement below:
“You are an entertainer in a position as a role model to younger ones coming up and in your musical record you are greeting all the yahoo boys, you are greeting all the fraudsters, calling their name personally, hailing them, wire wire mo fe cha che, all this culture you are making the young ones think it's cool to do it, it's not, you are destroying our future,” he told Hip TV.
Going further, Falz added that musicians should tell positive stories with their songs and also use them to build up and move people's life forward.
“As an entertainer sing about something that can help our life, paint a picture, tell a story, don't glorify fraudulent behaviour it's not good.”
Some have taken Falz’s comment to be directed at musician 9ice who ‘praised’ alleged fraudsters in his hit song Living Things.
