Nollywood actor Yul Edochie who is running for the 2017 governorship election in Anambra state has revealed the reason why he failed to attend the debate organised for candidates.
On Sunday, November 12, Channels Television organised a debate for candidates of the Anambra governorship election.
According to Edochie, he did not take part in the election because he was not invited for the debate.
The actor turned politician made the announcement on his official Twitter handle after a Twitter user asked him why he was not at the debate.
In his post, the Democratic Peoples Congress candidate overlooked the debate, stating that he would continue to campaign to give the masses a say.
The actor and politician who is the son of veteran actor, Pete Edochie, further expressed that focusing on the campaign should be the main goal.
It was gathered that only five candidates were present at the debate out of 37 vying for the governor of the state.
The five candidates who participated in the debate are members of Nigeria’s five major parties. The Anambra governorship election is slated to take place on Saturday, November 18.
